Neshanic Valley Golf Course, Green Knoll Golf Course, Quail Brook Golf Course, Spooky Brook Golf Course, and Warrenbrook Golf Course have all been named "Groundwater Guardian Green Sites" by the Groundwater Foundation to honor the facilities' environmental stewardship. The Groundwater Guardian Green Site program recognizes green spaces including golf courses, ball fields, and natural areas for implementing groundwater and surface water-friendly practices. Qualification includes selection of appropriate plantings, tracking irrigation water use, maintaining a no-application zone around surface water and active wells, and applying fertilizer based on nutrient needs.

Neshanic Valley Golf Course, Green Knoll Golf Course, Quail Brook Golf Course, Spooky Brook Golf Course, and Warrenbrook Golf Course have all earned "River Friendly" certification, presented by the New Jersey Water Supply Authority. NJWSA worked with Park Commission staff to develop specific goals and requirements for certification in the areas of Water Quality Management, Water Conservation Techniques, Wildlife and Habitat Enhancement, and Education and Outreach.

Neshanic Valley Golf Course, Spooky Brook Golf Course, and Green Knoll Golf Courses have earned Environmental Stewardship Recognition from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. The golf courses were cited for Hazardous Material Reduction, Water Use Reduction, Transportation Energy Use Reduction, and Enhancement Projects.

Neshanic Valley Golf Course has been designated as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary by International Audubon Society. Neshanic Valley Golf Course was also honored for environmental stewardship, earning a Sustainable Business Award from the South Branch Watershed Association.
