Cape May and Birding Adventures - Adult
May 10 - May 13
Join Somerset County Park Commission Naturalists on a South Jersey birding adventure! We will be traveling by van to explore the New Jersey/Delaware Bayshore from Fortescue to Cape May. Staying three nights on the beach in Cape May will keep us in the center of the bird migration action!

Mid-May is the perfect time to visit this biologically rich area; during migration many rare species like Ruddy turnstones and Red knots make stop-overs on their long migrations. In the spring there is another special natural phenomenon that occurs along the Delaware Bayshore, the spawning of Atlantic horseshoe crabs. While quite a sight to see, the presence of the spawning crabs and their resulting eggs is essential to the success of many migratory species. This trip is for active adults and seniors with an interest in bird watching and or wildlife photography. We will be taking a maximum of 17 participants on this trip.
