Forest Fitness Tuesdays
(Adult)
Join a weekly walking group and enhance your exercise regimen with Mother Nature! Improve your health, clear your mind, and enjoy nature as you traverse the level trails of Lord Stirling Park with a Naturalist as your guide. Leave cool, calm, and collected. Participants must be able to walk continuously at a moderate pace with occasional breaks. Bring a water bottle and a desire to leave your troubles behind. Comfortable, waterproof boots are a must in the swamp.
$25 for 5-day session per person

Bones, Bones, Bones
(Ages infant-5 with parent)
Your bones help you run, skip, and jump. But why else are they important? Do all animals have bones? Join us to learn more about the skeleton inside your body and the creatures that keep theirs on the outside.

Untermyer Park and Gardens & Hudson River Museum - New
(Adult)
Untermyer Park and Gardens is a Yonkers hidden gem. Designed
by Beaux Arts architect Welles Bosworth in 1916, we will tour 'The Walled Garden', visit 'The Vista', and the 'Temple to Love'. Later, at the Hudson River Museum, enjoy a tour of the historic Glenview House and learn about the historic Hudson River. Participants must be comfortable walking on stairs and natural paths. Wear sturdy walking shoes, dress to be both indoors and outdoors, bring drinks, and a picnic lunch. You may also want to bring a camera to capture the scenic beauty.
$75 per adult/$65 per senior

The Young Explorers Club

It is never too early to get little ones outdoors to experience the wonders of nature. This series will focus on developing their five senses through simple activities. Parents will share the excitement with their children during this special hour and return home with ideas to explore nature close to home. KinderNats is a program designed and geared for children who love being outdoors. This afterschool series will get them outside on the trails to study science and explore the natural world. These Junior Naturalists will be engaged through games, activities, and much more! Each week will focus on a different seasonal theme. Tree House Gang
(Ages 3-5)
Bring your little ones to the Environmental Education Center for fun science and nature programming. These two-and-a-half hour afternoon classes will enhance learning by spending up to two hours outside exploring, hands-on activities, meeting live animals, and learning by experimenting. Each month has a different theme. Please provide a small snack for your child. Please dress for the weather; waterproof boots are a must in the swamp.

Lyndhurst & Kykuit - New
(Adult)
Lace up your most comfortable walking shoes for a day of Gilded Age History along the Hudson River. Start the day off with a tour of a National Trust Historic Site, Lyndhurst Castle. Situated on 67 acres in Tarrytown, New York, the castle and grounds are an excellent example of Romantic style landscape and architecture. Lawns are well manicured with unique tree and shrub accents. Then proceed north for a 'Grand Tour' of Kykuit, Rockefeller's Estate in the beautiful Hudson Valley! This three-hour tour features historic architecture, remarkable gardens, captivating sculptures, and stunning vistas! This trip will involve a lot of walking and stairs. Bring your lunch or money to purchase lunch at the café.

Spiders are cool, not spooky. Some are hairy and some make beautiful webs. Others use their silk as a lasso to catch prey flying by. They can be tiny or the size of a dinner plate. Join a naturalist and meet some very cool spiders. Program includes PowerPoint presentation and live spiders.

The building is closed on Holidays.
Trails are open dawn to dusk daily but closed on Deer Management days as scheduled.
