part-time Positions

Part-time Gift Shop Clerk/Front Desk Host

The Somerset County Park Commission’s Environmental Education Center is seeking a part-time gift shop clerk/front desk host to manage merchandise carried in the gift shop, perform quarterly merchandise inventory, assist with registration and provide assistance to park patrons at the front desk. Associates degree from an accredited college or institution of higher education in the field of Human Resources, Public Administration, or related field, or two years experience working in retail management required.  The incumbent must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills  Computer skills, including MS Office, social media, database, and spreadsheet management required Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and adjust work schedule as required for the efficient operation of facilities and programs. Retail, marketing, or customer service experience preferred. Reasonable accommodations may be made, where necessary, to allow a qualified individual to perform essential job functions.  

$10 per hour.  Minimum 16 hours per week, including one weekend day.

seasonal Positions

The Somerset County Park Commission is accepting applications for seasonal maintenance workers at various locations throughout Somerset County.  Experience with hand tools and landscaping equipment a plus. Applicants must be able to lift up to 50  pounds. Must be able to take written and oral direction from supervisory staff. Work week is Monday through Friday and  some weekends and holidays. Must possess valid driver’s license. The starting rate is $10.00 per hour.
