Raritan River Rain Barrel Rebate Program - Rebates of up to $200 to install rain barrels at your home!

The Somerset County Park Commission and Go Green Committee will be working with the New Jersey Water Supply Authority and the Somerset County Regional Center Partnership  in promoting the Raritan River Rain Barrel Rebate program.  This program will offer rebates up to $200 for homeowners who purchase and install a rain barrel at their homes in the Somerville, Bridgewater, and Raritan area.    For more information on meeting the criteria for the rebate, please log on to  The Park Commission will also have informational packets at the Green Knoll Golf Course, Environmental Education Center in Bernards, Colonial Park Gardens in Franklin, and county park kiosks in Franklin, Bridgewater, and Somerville.

Since it is in keeping with our mission, the Park Commission is proud to promote this program since it protects the Raritan river watershed by preventing rainwater from running off and becoming nonpoint source pollution, as it picks up debris and pollutes the river and stream beds.  The Go Green Committee and Park Commission has seen firsthand how this rain barrel program can work since it has installed many rain barrels at parks, gardens, and golf course locations throughout the Park Commission.  The Go Green committee will be providing more information at several of our events in April and May.  Any questions regarding the Park Commission rain barrel program, please call 908-722-1200 x252 for more information.
