Grooming Lessons
Pony Grooming
A private half-hour grooming lesson is a great way to bond with our horses and learn how to brush them. These sessions are for adults and children 5 years and older. They are tailored to the skills and interests of the participant. Beginners will focus on safety while grooming and learning to be at ease around the pony; more advanced groomers will have the opportunity to practice handling, saddling, haltering, and leading. The focus is to allow participants to become comfortable around horses while educating about horse care.
Fee: $25 per person.
Activity Requirements:
- Must be 5 years of age or older.
- All participants must sign an annual waiver.
- All participants must wear an ASTM equestrian-certified helmet (available in stable office).
- All participants must wear closed-toe shoes (available in stable office).
- Arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled lesson.
Staff Members
Colleen began her riding career in 2004 at Lord Stirling Stable and started working as a part-timer at LSS in 2008. From 2013 through 2019 she was an LSS summer camp counselor. She currently boards two horses at the stable. Colleen loves to laugh and mix teaching with fun.
Charlotte has been involved with the horse community from a young age. She enjoys everything from a variety of riding disciplines to horse care and safety. Outside of the barn, Charlotte enjoys creating art or taking on any project that allows her to be creative; she is a fun, energetic, and outgoing person who loves to share her interests with others when given the opportunity.
