Swamp Kids let's move
(Ages 8-10)
Become a Swamp Kid! This program is designed to let the child's curiosity and passion guide their learning. Nature is the greatest teacher! Each week this outdoor afterschool series will focus on a different seasonal theme. Please be dressed for all kinds of weather and warm, and waterproof boots are a must.

Hip, hip, hooray! Ready your imagination as we prepare to enter a world of mixed-up and silly creatures, where the weird and wacky are normal. We will read some classic Dr. Seuss stories and celebrate his day with a take home craft.

Sunday Forest Fitness
(Adult)
Join a weekly walking group and enhance your exercise regimen with Mother Nature! Improve your health, clear your mind, and enjoy nature as you traverse the level trails of Lord Stirling Park with a Naturalist as your guide. Leave cool, calm, and collected. Participants must be able to walk continuously at a moderate pace with occasional breaks. Bring a water bottle and a desire to leave your troubles behind. Comfortable, waterproof boots are a must in the swamp.
$20 for 4-day session per person

It is never too early to get little ones outdoors to experience the wonders of nature. This series will focus on developing their five senses through simple activities. Parents will share the excitement with their children during this special hour and return home with ideas to explore nature close to home.

KinderNats let's move
(Ages 5-7)
KinderNats is a program designed and geared for children who love being outdoors. This afterschool series will get them outside to study science and explore the natural world. These Junior Naturalists will be engaged through hiking, games, and activities. Each week will focus on a different seasonal theme. Please be dressed for all kinds of weather.

Philadelphia Flower Show
(Adult)
The 2018 Flower Show theme, Wonders of Water, was chosen to celebrate the beauty and life-sustaining interplay of horticulture and water. Be prepared to be wowed by renowned floral and garden designers' interpretation of tropical jungles, temperate forests, native woodlands, and arid landscapes. Wander at your own pace. Bring your own lunch or bring money to buy locally at the Flower Show or the Reading Terminal Market. Visitors may re-enter the show with a hand stamp. Inclement weather reschedule date is Wednesday, March 7.

Tree House Gang let's move
(Ages 3-5)
Bring your little ones to the Environmental Education Center for fun science and nature programming. These two-and-a-half hour afternoon classes will enhance learning by spending up to two hours outside exploring, hands-on activities, meeting live animals, and learning by experimenting. Each month has a different theme. Please send a small snack with your child. Please dress for the weather. Please register for only the Tuesday session or the Thursday session per month. Both monthly sessions cover the same material on a weekly basis.

Winter Walkin' in the Pines

Join us on a winter's day for some easy walking down in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey. Our travels may include Whitesbog Village, the Evert Nature Trail, the Franklin Parker Preserve, and/or Lebanon State Forest. We will hike five to six miles total, at an easy pace, while doing some winter birding. Bring a bag lunch, binoculars, and, of course, dress for the weather.

Birding Seminar: March Migration Madness - New
(All Ages, 8 years and older with parent)
Introducing a new program series that will discuss various topics in the birding world. This program will discuss the great spectacle of bird migration. Twice a year hundreds of species of birds fly an astounding number of miles from their wintering grounds to their breeding areas and back. How a little bird can do this year after year is simply incredible. Spring migration is just around the corner. We will talk about why birds migrate, what species migrate, and where they are going. If time and weather permit we may take a short hike.
