Pickleball Court Rules and Regulations
Starting March 15, 2026, all individuals using the North Branch Greenway Park Pickleball Courts must obtain a valid Pickleball Day Pass or Season Pass. Passes can be purchased here. Season passes are photo IDs and must be obtained in person at North Branch Park Headquarters, open Monday – Friday 9 AM – 4:30 PM.
Courts are located at:
North Branch Greenway Park on Milltown Road in Bridgewater Twp.
Open dawn - 9:45pm (weather permitting)
- All pickleball players must have a valid 2026 Somerset County Park Commission (SCPC) Pickleball Season Pass or daily pass displayed when using the courts. Each season pass holder is permitted to bring one guest. Guest players must be accompanied by a season pass holder. Daily passes can be purchased here. Season passes are non-transferable.
- Spot checks for season passes and daily passes will be conducted periodically by SCPC staff. Failure to display appropriate pass will result in removal from courts. All pickleball players agree to follow the rules in this document or risk having their pass revoked.
- In total there are six courts lined for pickleball play only. Other activities such as tennis, skateboarding, rollerblading, e-biking, or cycling are not permitted.
- Courts are available on a first-come-first served basis unless reserved for events, tournaments, lessons or other organized activities permitted by (SCPC).
- SCPC reserves the right to close courts for special events, maintenance, or other needs. Notice will be provided when possible through SCPC’s social media channels and website.
- Unauthorized paid athletic coaching services or private lessons are NOT permitted.
- All players must wear non-marking athletic shoes. Players must wear shirts. Everyone is expected to be properly attired and obtain proper pickleball paddles and balls.
- Do not remove or tamper with court surfaces, nets or equipment. The unauthorized use of snow/ice removal equipment or chemicals is prohibited. Violations may result in court closures or passes being revoked. Please report any damage to SCPC immediately.
- Courts should not be used in inclement weather or when unsafe hazards such as puddles, ice, or snow remain on the court.
- Players must exhibit good sportsmanship and respect other users. Excessive noise, loud, offensive, or bothersome music, and disruptive behavior are prohibited.
- SCPC is not responsible for loss of personal property or damage on or about the courts.
- Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Children 12 and under do not require a pass to play.
- The following are NOT permitted on the courts:
• Animals (except for service animals)
• Bicycles, skateboards, hoverboards, scooters, roller-skates, in-line skates, strollers, radio-controlled toys, or any other wheeled devices (except for personal assistance mobility devices)
• Food, gum, and beverages other than water. Plastic bottles must be disposed of properly and not left on the courts
• Smoking, vaping, alcoholic beverages, and glass containers
• Profanity, bullying, abusive behavior or spitting
• Chairs, tables, etc. - Automatic ball machines are not allowed when there are players waiting to use a court.
- Please use designated parking areas. Parking in unauthorized locations may result in penalties and the suspension of court privileges.
- Restrooms are available at the court. At the end of the working day staff will lock bathrooms and only a portable restroom will be available.
- A refillable water bottle station is available at the courts. During the winter months, the water station will not be accessible.
- SCPC may add, delete, or change any of these rules and regulations as necessary.

- Failure to adhere to these rules may result in removal from courts, suspension of court privileges, and/or court closures.
Rotation
- Game ends when first team reaches 11 points.
- When paddle rack has 4 or more paddles pending play, 4 new players rotate onto court after each game.
- When paddle rack has less than 4 paddles pending play, winners stay on and 2 new players rotate onto court after each game.
